At least 10 Palestinians were killed and dozens more wounded in Israeli airstrikes on the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA said on Saturday.
The attack targeted the city building, which was sheltering displaced people, the WAFA report said. The injured were taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The mayor of Deir al-Balah is reported to be among those killed.
The information could not be immediately confirmed. The Israeli military said it was investigating the report.
Separately, WAFA reported that seven people were killed when Israeli forces attacked an old school building in Gaza City.
The Hamas-controlled health authority in the region said 55 Palestinians were killed by Israeli action over 24 hours. More than 44,900 people have been killed since the current war began last October, he said.
