28 Weeks Later First Trailer.jpg

22 years later, the first trailer for 28 years later proves that Danny Boyle still has the sauce

The first trailer for 28 years ago here, and if the whole thing ends so well, we could be in for a strong return from Danny Boyle.

Over the weekend, Sony released a very short and cryptic teaser trailer for 28 Years Later meaning we'd be getting a proper trailer next Tuesday – today is Tuesday, and yes, a trailer arrived indeed! And while this one doesn't give too much away either, it's much clearer what's going on, even if it's filled with a very ominous vibe. The trailer will mainly focus on Aaron Taylor-Johnson, apparently the lead of this sequel, with him and several other people who live on an island mostly cut off from the rest of society- social. There is no noise to be heard either, just this old timey voice screaming and counting. Good stuff!

You may also have seen other members of the film like Ralph Fiennes and Jodie Comer, even if none of them are there that much, but there is one person who is particularly missing: Cillian Murphy. We know he's set to appear in the movie, but it looks like he's not in this trailer at all. Well, depending on who you ask anyway. Some online are wondering if Murphy might be the infectious, very naked man at about one minute and 48 seconds in, because admittedly they do look a bit alike, but there's always a chance in that it is false. That would be a very sad end for his character, although it's not really surprising since there are still zombies running around nearly three decades later.

This isn't the only 28 Years Larnach film you can look forward to either, as a sequel was shot back-to-back with this one, with Candyman's Nia DaCosta directs the follow-up28 Years Later Part 2: Temple of Bones. The first part is expected to arrive next year, June 20, but Part 2 is yet to receive a release date.
