Google Play Pass is great, as it turns out. Apple may be funding developers to make games just for its awesome closed system, but Google seems to have gotten into the habit of sensing what's popular and just link to their own version of a subscription service. I've played a bunch of stuff that I've really enjoyed. And sometimes the additions are strange and seem to be based on no pattern at all, and I believe that Grid of Thermometers forward there. And I love it.

There is a version of sudoku created by Tapping the Cryptic which uses a similar principle, but this puzzle is much simpler. It's about filling a grid based on the numbers on the X and Y axes, and the rule that a thermometer runs over tiles, horizontally or vertically, filled from bottom to bottom high Oh, I'm not going to try to explain everything here. Just download it if you have Play Pass and thank me later.

This is my current game to play while watching TV (no, I'm not part of the second-screen monstrous generation, I'm old-school ADHD with a brain that can't one thing at a time), and since I plan to spend this weekend just lying on the couch and complaining about my painful wisdom tooth mouth, that seems like the most game likely to play me – Iain MacCoisir
