The mining industry plays a key role in the world's energy transition, providing the essential minerals and metals required for new, green technology. It is also under pressure to reduce its own carbon footprint, and protect the communities affected by its mining operations around the world. If we are to do that in a way that does not adversely affect other aspects of environmental stewardship, we need to set and adhere to high standards.”
