Choking Hazard has recalled fun toys across Canada


Health Canada is urging Canadian families to check any stuffed animals found under the tree this year, as there may be a choking hazard.

The agency said Chinese-made Mother and Baby Plus toys, including animals such as pandas, elephants, lions, tigers and giraffes, do not meet Canadian safety standards and the hard plastic eyes can detach and be swallowed by young children.

The affected toys have a universal product code (UPC) of 81402-39986 and an item number of P273585. Health Canada said that importers, Chantia salesThere were no reports of injuries in Canada as of last week. The company has sold 120 units since May 2023.

Consumers are asked to return the product to the point of sale or contact the importer directly.
