Ripple President Monica Long expects the XRP exchange-traded fund to launch “very soon,” possibly the next major crypto ETF after those tied to Bitcoin and Ethereum.
“We will see several crypto ETFs this year coming out of the US. XRP will likely be next in line after Bitcoin and ETH,” Long said in a statement an interview by Bloomberg Crypto this week.
Bitwise, 21Shares, Canary Capital, and WisdomTree are among the companies that have filed applications with the SEC for XRP ETFs. Long believes that a regulatory shift under the incoming Trump administration will speed up the review and approval process for these files.
“We think especially with the administrative change, that the approval of these files will speed up,” she said.
Betting markets on Polymarket show 71% odds for the launch of XRP ETF this year, however vote separately indicating lower confidence in an agreement by the end of July.
Ripple's President also discussed the growth and adoption of Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin, which debuted last month and has surpassed $72 million in market cap according to CoinGecko. The stable is currently available on several platforms, including Bitso, MoonPay, CoinMina, Bullish, Mercado Bitcoin, and B2C2.
When asked if Ripple plans to list RLUSD on major exchanges such as Coinbase, she said that Ripple is actively working to list its stable on more crypto exchanges.
“We continue to expand the distribution and availability of Ripple dollars on other exchanges. So I think you can expect to see more access, more releases coming soon…soon,” Long said.
Long believes that the stablecoin market is growing and will continue to grow “significantly” this year. Because stablecoins play a vital role as on-ramps and off-ramps, as the crypto market grows, so will the demand for a stablecoin like Ripple's.
“Our business within payments doubled last year, so we see a very strong growth path for our payment solution. And with that, Ripple's US dollar will play a key role,” she said.
