Current goal: Face Godzilla, and survive!
I have a complicated relationship with Fortnite these days. I feel like it has fallen a long way from the game it was in its amazing first year when there were no bots, when skilled and unskilled players joined a group of skilled and unskilled players -skill every game. accident and accident and loss. Now, that bracing experience is gone, replaced by a warm pool where most opponents you meet are bots making a half-hearted attack when they really ' serve yourself to be executed on a silver platter. Gone, too, is the game's ethereal, mysterious take on story, largely left open to interpretation. Now, MMORPG-style quests and chatty characters spell the standard video game lore, while more and more characters from popular “IPs” (blech) hit the shop every week, eliminating any particular identity. Fortnite maybe once was and turning it into a corporate dystopia a la Player one ready.
And yet, I am not immune Fortnitedraw It's still a game I can really get into feeling the earth beneath me; I love how easy it is to run, slide, jump, and glide across the map. On a hard day, I still have a habit of logging in and quickly firing off three daily quests to earn some easy XP, an activity I can get lost in for a bit. And I'm certainly not defensive Fortniteand the scene, especially in those moments when he does something wild on a level that few other games match. Right now is such a time and Godzilla, the king of the monsters, has a chance to spawn in every game. I saw a video online showing what it's like to play as a big guy and it looks amazing, the sense of scale and his destructive power all seem right. This weekend, I suspect I'll be playing a lot more Fortnite than usual, hoping to experience the magnitude of that destructive power from the point of view of a puny person and running for my life from something that really feels dangerously dangerous. So hey, if you happen to play Fortnite this weekend and you turn into godzilla and then you see me as a little speck running around a path down below, please don't hurt me. I mean no harm to you! – Carolyn Petit
