You know 2025 is well and truly underway because we're starting to get news and updates about games we're planning to play this year. Exoborne It is one such game, and it will be allowing a lucky few to play it for the first time next month.
Exoborne is the new game from Sharkbob, the team behind the unfortunate (but beloved) Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhuntand it has already generated a lot of buzz from the few times it was shown to the public last year.

Exoborne is an extraction PvPvE shooter and its main mechanic revolves around the use of the Exo-Rigs, which not only help you navigate the game world and make it go stunts that independents can't, they also work as platforms that fit into your loading and playing style.
As is the case with most extraction games, you enter a highly contested area where AI factions fight each other – and you. Other players, often fighting for the same loot, drop in all over the map. Another key element in Exoborne's gameplay is its chaotic weather system, which effectively creates another element of danger that you must contend with.
This next playtest will be available on PC via Steam. It begins Wednesday, February 12 at 5am PT, 8am ET, 1pm UK. You will be able to play until Monday, February 17th – which should be long enough for most for a few hours of gameplay. All you have to do is press the Request Access button on Exoborne's Steam pageand you will be notified by Steam if you are selected.
We played Exoborne last August, when Connor also spoke to members of the Sharkbob team about how the studio plans to avoid another Bloodhunt scenario. The live service arena has become even more brutal since the end of the Bloodhunt service. We are now seeing it games that spent years in development get shut down before they even have a chance to make a case for themselvesso the odds are definitely not in anyone's favor there – but you can never bet against good play.
