According to data provided by the cryptocurrency analysis platform IntoTheBlock, Ethereum (ETH) whales now control 43% of the cryptocurrency's total circulating supply after another accumulation spree.
As the company said, this marks a significant increase compared to early 2023. Back then, whales only controlled 22% of the total token supply.
IntoTheBlock has said that this increase is likely related to the Ethereum merger and the possibility of a stake.
The number of unique addresses donating ETH to the staking contract is currently at 210,100 after growing by 8.60% over the past 24 hours.
The cumulative number of ETH tokens staked stands at 55.96 million.
The Ethereum exchange rate is now equal to 3 500 US dollars
In the meantime, the price of Ethereum (ETH) is approaching the $3,500 mark, according to CoinGecko data.
The major altcoin is up about 2% over the past 24 hours, recovering in tandem with other major altcoins.
Bitcoin, the leading cryptocurrency by market cap, soared to $105,079 earlier today.
