The Qatari Foreign Ministry on Sunday called on Israel and Hamas to respect the Gaza ceasefire agreement, while highlighting the challenges and efforts involved in maintaining it.
In an interview with Doha-based broadcaster Al Jazeera, ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari stressed “the need for unwavering commitment and coordination to ensure the success and stability of the agreement among political and logistical obstacles.”
“Mediators worked diligently to resolve the delays that arose earlier in the day,” he said. “The agreement, which includes the exchange of hostages and prisoners, require strict adherence to timelines.”
Al-Ansari also stressed the importance of focusing on practical progress rather than political rhetoric.
He said that Qatar remains committed to fully implementing the agreement, adding that the failure of the agreement is not an option and that all parties should adhere to it.
