Colin Farrell didn't walk around with braces and a prosthetic face for nothing. As a sign that even a broken clock is right from time to time, some of the best projects from Marvel, DC Studios, and the Dune an illusive snagged universe Golden Globe nominations.
In a year where it felt like every day brought a new weird reality to deal with, the TV and movie weirdness ran. Both Farrell and Cristina Milioti receive nominations for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series and Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, respectively, for their captivating roles in The Penguin. Without these two taking their talents to pitiful depths never before seen in their careers, this show would not have been the best Batman project ever without Batman (although Gotham criminally prohibited). Sofia Gigante (Milioti) bringing gaslight to a level that is literally murder and Oz Cobb (Farrell) being a complete piece of shit could give DC Studios the biggest win in years.
The strange man Agatha all with the and the broken fourth wall Deadpool and Wolverine received two rare Golden Globe nods for Marvel Studios, as Kathryn Hahn picked up a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, and the Deadpool 2 new sequel named for Cinematic Performance and Box Office. Honestly, now that a movie can win a Golden Globe for making the most money, Marvel's profits should start piling up.
For the second time in a row, Denis Villeneuve Dune the universe is nominated for Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Original Score for Dune: Part Two. Unfortunately, Villeneuve was unable to claim his second consecutive award for Best Director – Motion Picture after submitting one for Dunea fact that angers Josh Brolin to the point of possibility early retirement.
Comic book sociopaths and intergalactic dystopias got some names for the nerds. We'll see if they can take home the gold when the 2025 Golden Globes take place on January 5th at 8pm ET on CBS.
