Kraven the Hunter it's not even out yet, but a new report has made that abundantly clear Sony done with his SUMC for now.
The SUMC, or Sony Universe of Marvel Characters, will go down in history for a number of reasons, including having a stupid name, featuring movies about characters no one cares about , and spending a lot of money. Kraven the Hunter is still set to be the final entry in the Spider-Man-less Spider-Verse when it releases this Friday the 13th (seriously? That's the date you picked?) , But a new report from The Wrap actually proving that yes, this is Sony's last attempt at a connected universe of Spider-Man related characters.

A top talent agent who spoke to TheWrap has said that Sony has “developed what they want to develop for now,” and is now “really about the next Spider-Man movie.” . That film will be Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4, a flick directed by Destin Daniel Cretton that is to be published in July 2026and obviously it's part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Sony just helping make it happen. Another Sony insider told TheWrap that with Spider-Man 4 as the focus, the company will continue to look ahead. Beyond the Spirit-Versethe upcoming animated sequel that has yet to receive a release date, and Spider-man blackthe Amazon live-action series that has Nicolas Cage attached to star as the title character.
What you can clearly see here is that the emphasis is being put back on Spider-Man, you know, the character that people like, rather than the villains or the lesser-known side characters. After that though? Who knows! But I'm sure he won't be involved Morbius.
