Berlin will host a regular season NFL game for the first time in 2025 as part of the league's continued global growth and expansion.
The match will be played at the Olympiastadion – home of Hertha Berlin and host of the 2006 World Cup finals and 2024 European Championship – as part of a multi-year commitment to play matches in the German capital.
The NFL has held regular season games in Munich and Frankfurt since 2022 and the game in Berlin will be the fifth regular season game to be held in Germany.
“Germany has a rich tradition in American football, and the NFL has a deep history with the city of Berlin,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
“We first held a preseason game at Olympic Stadium 34 years ago, before it was home to the NFL's Berlin Thunder of Europe in the early 2000s.
“Now, with nearly 20 million NFL fans in Germany, we will make a historic return to the city playing a regular season game for the first time as we open the next chapter of our relationship with Berlin.

'Longtime NFL Partnership'
Berlin's mayor for the interior and sports, Iris Spranger, said: “This long-term partnership with the NFL will continue to promote Berlin as a global sports capital, as well as encouraging -continue at the Olympic stadium.
“The 2025 NFL Berlin game means worldwide visibility, numerous international guests, increased tourism and high economic value throughout the city.
“We look forward to an amazing game and a continued successful partnership with the league, as we continue to strengthen American football's presence across the state.”
Two NFL International Series games were held at the Allianz Arena in Munich, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeating the Seattle Seahawks in 2022 and the Carolina Panthers defeat the New York Giants 20-17 in 2024.
Frankfurt has also hosted two games, with the Kansas City Chiefs defeating the Miami Dolphins and the Indianapolis Colts defeating the New England Patriots in November 2023.
When is the Super Bowl 2025?
The 2025 Super Bowl will be held at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9, live on Sky Sports.
It will mark the 11th time the Super Bowl has taken place in New Orleans, the most recent being in 2013.
Rapper Kendrick Lamar will headline the Super Bowl LIX halftime show.
