Jamaica Scorpions captain John Campbell has been handed a four-match ban by Cricket West Indies (CWI). Iain Campbell has been banned for not appearing at the toss in the Super50 final against Barbados Pride, leading to the removal of the final match of the 2024-25 Super50.

John Campbell expressed deep regret for his actions in a statement released by Cricket West Indies. Campbell clarified that it was never his intention to harm the reputation of the game. He emphasized his commitment to maintaining the integrity of cricket and respecting the decisions of officials.
“I deeply regret any disturbance caused in the final and I acknowledge that my actions may have been seen as a challenge to the decision of the match officials,” Campbell said. .
“It was never my intention to undermine their authority or bring the game into disrepute. I fully acknowledge the importance of maintaining the integrity of the game and the need to comply with the rules and decisions of the officers.”

Campbell, who played 20 Test matches for the West Indies, previously served a four-year ban from cricket imposed by the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission in 2022 for failing to provide a sample for testing.
The ban was reduced two years and two months later after an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The left-handed batsman has also played 6 ODIs and two T20Is for West Indies in his career.

The disciplinary committee has not yet made a decision regarding Barbados Pride captain Raymon Reifer. Reifer is facing charges similar to those of John Campbell, but he has yet to respond to the allegations made by match referee Reon King.
“We appreciate Mr Campbell's admission of the situation and his sincere apology. As a result of his admission and expression of remorse, CWI has imposed the minimum sanction of a four-match ban for the offense Level 3, as a matter of mercy,” said the CWI director. about cricket said Miles Bascombe.
