At least 14 people were killed in the French overseas region of Mayotte after Cyclone Chido swept across the Indian Ocean island on its way to east Africa, a security source told AFP on Sunday. French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau said it would take several days to know the total death toll, which he warned was likely to be “heavy”.
