Firefighters are expected to remain on the scene for several hours Sunday at a major fire at a commercial building in Mississauga near Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Mississauga Fire Services Platoon Chief Derrick Wilson said crews were called to a second-alarm fire at 1787 Drew Road at 8:45 a.m.
When they arrived, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames, Wilson said.
Crews will likely be at the scene by evening, he added.
No injuries were reported.
Drew Road is closed to traffic between Tranmere Drive and Bramlea Road, Peel Regional Police said in a social media post.
Toronto Pearson Airport said in a post on X that the fire did not affect its operations and that flights were departing and arriving without any problems.
