Dang it. Sleeping dogs – a great game about an undercover cop who infiltrates the Hong Kong triads by lying and supports the lying by kicking half the population of the special administrative department right in the face – which is no longer expected to get a film adaptation by Donnie Yen.
I know, who likes slumbering canines, I'm sad too. We'll get over it, though, maybe reinstalling the Certified Edition and slapping the t*ts off some hoodlums hiding away in a central alley – maybe next to one of those nice blue lock boxes.

This Dead in the Water live-action film – first announced in 2017 – would have seen Yen, known for his roles in Rogue One, John Wick: Chapter 4and the Ip Man franchise, playing the main character Wei Shen. The actor is now confirmed Polygon that it seems this is no longer on the cards.
“I spent a lot of time and did a lot of work with these producers, and even invested some of my own money to get the versions and some of the rights,” he said. “I waited years. Years. .And I really want to do it. All these scenes are in my head, and unfortunately… you know how Hollywood goes, right? I spent many, many years on. It was unfortunate.”
Yen concluded by saying: “Well, on to better things.”
Damn. Think how good it could be. Especially if Yen had brought the same swagger he had as Caine into that John Wick movie – a character that's already done Download his own movie – to the post.
This is just the fate of us sleeping dogos fans, it would seem. No sequels, no movie, just endless trips to kung fu the crap out of a certain crime boss known for his big smile.
