The idea behind it is to make sure what kind of zone they need to make those runs – Abhishek Nayar
Speaking after the end of play on Day 1, India coach Abhishek Nayar said that both Rohit and Kohli need to start well and spend time in the middle to get back into form.
“I always believe it's about getting that confidence and getting off to a good start. If they get that, their game will look different. I believe both Rohit and Virat are the type of players if they face 25-30 deliveries, you will see them back in their normal form,” he said.
While supporting Rohit Sharma's “modern men” they will think their way' for Kohli, Abhishek Nayar said:
“As Rohit said, generally when you talk to an experienced player, it's about their focus and their game plan. Every player has their own weakness. They will be sent out one way or another. The idea behind it is to make sure what kind of zone they need to make those runs. “
A lot of credit to the way Sam – Abhishek Nayar played
Abhishek Nayar also revealed a rich tribute to the teenage batting sensibilities Constance himself for his incredible 65-ball 60 in his first Test innings against India. He said:
“Many thanks to the way Sam played. The intention he showed in the first few overs of that kind put us on their backs. But I felt it took a lot of character from our bowlers to hang in there.”
However, Nayar was satisfied with the way the Indian bowlers bounced back after being stunned by the youngster's exceptional batting in Melbourne. He explained:
“It wasn't the easiest of circumstances, we felt. They were good to bat on. At times like that, it's important to stick to your guns. I felt that we came back very strong after lunch. Bowling those maidens, putting pressure.
“At times like that, you're surprised when someone plays a knock like that. But I felt that we responded very well and during the day held on, and got the benefits towards the end. Overall, you look at the day, we were happy with where we finished. “
