It was the Golden Globes over the weekend, and easily one of the most exciting winners of the night Demi Moore for her lead performance in last year's The Substance. Although this may have been the film's only win at the awards ceremony, it was a big one because it was Moore's first major award in her long and prolific career. Now, coming off the high of Moore's win and the film's other four nominations at the Globes, the film's distributor Mubi has released a feature that goes in-depth about how which the horror was organized.

The behind-the-scenes mini-documentary begins with writer/director Coralie Fargeat talking about her motivation behind making the film, which came largely from the underrepresentation of women over 50. the movies, a point that had grown a lot. personal to her when she got older herself.

Some of the best stuff there is about the movie's special effects, and if you've seen the movie you know they're pretty generic. It was all very economical as there are lots of shots of bodies being mutilated in gruesome ways – one of my favorite bits comes in at 9:16 showing one of the fake bodies being manipulated to look like something is trying to burst out. skin Good stuff! It's worth a look for fans of the film, or even just fans of the craft.
