Ivanka Trump has responded to rumors related to a meme coin bearing her name, denyingstrongly any involvement.
The president's daughter has also warned investors, urging them to avoid the coin and to be careful about possible scams.
Ivanka Trump talks to IVANKA Meme Coin
In a recent statement, Ivanka Trump denied rumors of involvement in the IVANKA meme coin. The businesswoman took to X (formerly Twitter) to clear the air.
“It has come to my attention that a fake crypto coin called “Ivanka Trump” or “$IVANKA” is being promoted without my consent or permission. To be clear: I have no affiliation with this coin,” the post read.
She also warned that the coin is a danger to unsuspecting users, who could cheat them of their hard earned money. She condemned the unauthorized use of her name and likeness as a violation of her rights.
“This promotion is false, deceptive and inappropriate. My legal team is reviewing and will be following steps to stop the continued misuse of my name,” she said.
In particular, there are several fake IVANKA coins available for trading on the market right now.
Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump is not the first member of the Trump family to be linked to unauthorized cryptocurrency ventures. In July 2024, a meme coin with Barron Trump's name and image was launched.
Neither Barron Trump nor any other member of the Trump family has publicly acknowledged any connection to the token.
TRUMP and MELANIA Lose Momentum
This follows the launch of the official President Trump (TRUMP) and Melania (MELANIA) meme coins. Both coins rose in value after launch before losing their gains.
TRUMP has fallen 6.3% in the last 24 hours, trading at $34.5 at the time of writing. This represents a decline of more than 50% from the all-time high. Similarly, MELANIA has fallen 4.8% in the last day, with a press time value of $2.76 – down an incredible 79% from its peak price.
Despite being officially approved, the TRUMP meme base has not been free from scams. As previously reported by BeInCrypto, scammers took advantage of the hype surrounding TRUMP, resulting in $857 million in stolen funds within the past week alone.
The rise of Trump-themed meme coins has also led to regulatory scrutiny. Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Jake Auchincloss recently sent a letter raising serious concerns about the TRUMP and MELANIA funds, calling for stricter regulations to monitor such funds.
This follows an earlier letter from US Rep. Gerald Connolly. Ann, Connolly pushed for an investigation into President Trump's possible ties to cryptocurrency projects and any conflicts of interest.
