Bangladesh women's top contracts list announced; players to get salary increases and bonuses


Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has created a big promotion for women cricketers. The cricket body has announced salary increases across all four categories of its list of women cricketers with a major contract from the coming season.

According to the new salary structure, the players under the Grade A and B categories will get a huge increase of 20,000 BDT/month, while those under C and D will get an additional 10,000 BDT/month.

Nigar Sultana Joty, Farzana Haque, Ritu Moni, and Nahida Akter will be part of the Grade A category while Fahima Khatun, Shamima Sultana, Sharmin Akter Supta, Murshida Khatun, Marufa Akter and Rabeya fall in the Grade B category of BCB's premier contract.

The likes of Sobhana Mostary, Lata Mondol, Jahanara Alam, and Shoma Akter are part of the Grade C category, while Disha Biswas, Sultana Khatun, Dilara Akter, Shathi Rani have been placed in the Grade D category of medium contracts.

Bangladesh Cricket Board announces match and series bonuses for women's national team players

Not only this, but the Bangladesh Cricket Board also provides match and series bonuses to the players of the women's national team. The bonuses depend on the winners based on the opposition levels in both forms of white-ball cricket.

Bangladesh Cricket Board will give prize money of 1,00,000 for ODI win against teams ranked 1-3. For the victory against the teams in level 4-6, they will get 75,000 BDT. While BDT 50,000 will be awarded for the winners against teams ranked 7-9 in the ICC rankings.

In T20Is, the Bangladesh Cricket Board gives players BDT 50,000 for a win against teams ranked 1-3. 35,000 for a win against teams ranked from 4-6, and BDT 30,000 for a win against teams ranked from 7-9 in the rankings.

Issuing the official statement, BCB said: “From now on, women cricketers will get BDT 1,00,000 for an ODI win against teams ranked 1-3, BDT 75,000 for a win over teams from 4 -6, and BDT 50,000 for. victory against teams ranked from 7-9 in the ICC rankings.

“In T20Is, the figures will be BDT 50,000 for a win against teams ranked 1-3, BDT 35,000 for a win against teams ranked 4-6, and BDT 30,000 for a win against teams ranked from 7- 9 in the ICC. rating.”

Bangladesh Cricket Board to introduce national level contracts for women cricketers

Apart from the development at the international level, the Bangladesh Cricket Board will also introduce contracts at the national level for women cricketers. This is because they want to increase the number of players on their pay tables.

Along with the 18 players with a medium contract, another 30 players will be given domestic contracts. BCB chief Faruque said it will be similar to the way contracts were awarded to male cricketers. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

“We have moderate contracts for the women cricketers in the national pool. In addition, we will bring in 30 more cricketers under contract. It will be like men's cricket; we have contracts for players who play in the national league. So, let's start that for the women too.”
