The Prime Minister has no immediate plans to resign over the Christmas break, according to to the Globe & Mail, citing sources.
He leads a minority government and all the other parties have pledged a motion of no confidence that would trigger an election when parliament returns in six weeks. The Tories have called for an even earlier vote but the election is likely to be called at the end of January with a vote six weeks later.
At this point, an election call is earlier than upside down risk to the Canadian dollar as a result of the decision vote that was lost with the Conservatives ahead in the polls.
