Diablo 4's first live stream of the year is coming next week, and it'll be all about Season 7 and its new questline

Blizzard developers have returned from vacation to deliver some news to everyone Diablo 4 players eager to hear more about the game next season. Season 7 starts the day season 6 ends – on January 21st – so it's time for the team to recap and spill the beans.

The more formal Developer Update returns next week, offering one last look at new Season 7 content before it arrives the week after.

The Diablo 4 January developer update is ready for Thursday, January 16 at 11am PT, 2pm ET, 7pm UK. The main point of this one is to preview all the remaining details about the upcoming season 7, which includes the new seasonal quest line.

You may remember that Blizzard appeared practically all the biggest details about Season 7 in a live stream that came before PTR proper which happened in December. That's because Season 7 will also launch with patch 2.1, which is big enough to warrant its own test environment.

Being a witch and using witch powers is the main theme of this one, which Blizzard had to destroy way ahead of time because of the way the new mechanics intersect with it the existing game.

In addition to the new gems, sorcery powers, and the new quest/faction line, Season 7 also brings several major changes to general gameplay. Ultimate abilities are getting a boost across the board, and we're finally going to be able to save loadouts for every character.

While it's unclear which members of the development team will be present for this Developer Update, the Q&A — which will be held at the end of the show — will indeed return. I also think there may be a couple of things we still don't know about Season 7, which is another thing this live stream will hopefully fix as well.
