Flights have been temporarily canceled at Halifax airport following an incident involving a plane landing


HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) – A plane incident at Halifax Stanfield International Airport caused a temporary delay in flight operations Saturday night.

Airport spokeswoman Tiffany Chase said that at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday, an Air Canada Express flight operated by Pal Airlines arriving from St. John's, Newfoundland, when he landed.

Air Canada spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick said the plane “suspected a landing gear issue” after it arrived Saturday night, adding that the flight was unable to reach its destination and the crew and 73 passengers were loaded onto the bus.

Fitzpatrick said no one on board was injured, but a spokesperson for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Nova Scotia, which responded to the incident with paramedics, said minor injuries were reported.

Chase said flight operations were suspended following the incident pending approval for airport operations to resume, and one of the airport's runways has resumed regular operations. since then.

The cause of the incident is unknown and an investigation is pending.
