If you've ever wondered what it would be like to find out that a unicorn is real, and kill one on the same day, the first trailer for Death of a Unicorn promises to show just that.
Unicorns, I'm sorry to say, are not real. We have plenty of horned animals in the world, but horses are not one of them, although it would be much worse than if they were. But imagine if you were driving somewhere minding your own business, when, oh my! You just fell in and killed a horse. If it's not a horse, it's definitely a unicorn. And also unicorn groups 'can cure cancer? That's exactly what the A24-distributed Death of a Unicorn is about, except, what do you know, the movie is also a horror as well as a black comedy, and there's another unicorn out there that wanting revenge for the other. It's a lot! And the first trailer, which you can check out below, looks like a lot of fun.
The film stars Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) and Jenna Ortega (Wednesday) as father and daughter, the former taking the latter to an emergency management summit with his billionaire boss, played by Richard E. Grant. That boss also discovers the unicorn, in the process discovers that his body/horn can cure cancer, and become a rich man, he wants to be even richer from it there. Rounding out the cast are some equally strong additions such as Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy 3), Tea Leoni (Bad Boys), Anthony Carrigan (Barry), Sunita Mani (Mr. Robot), Jessica Hynes ( Shaun of the Dead), and Steve Park (The Venture Bros).

Death of a Unicorn doesn't have a firm release date yet, but it's expected to be released sometime in the Spring of 2025. Let's just hope that unicorns aren't suddenly discovered to be real and that they spoil the point of the film in the meantime!
