Is Elden Ring Nightreign inspired by mods? I'm not sure, but it's definitely a dream come true for Co-op Seamless and random fans


The world can't get enough Elden Circleand FromSoftware apparently can't, with the release of a co-op roguelite in a parallel world with gargantuan RPG events during Prizes of the Games Last week: Night water.

This year, I played Elden Ring again for the umpteenth time in preparation for the DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. However, with replayability it wasn't enough to satisfy my desire to drop after a boss, and that's where Accidental co-op and Modes for randomizer Finally I came in. My friends and I got ready – nearly ten of us – for what was supposed to be the worst co-op run ever. You can only imagine how that went.

Due to a lack of coordination, bosses were respawning in the middle of the fight thanks to others resting at the Grace Site, and it took us an embarrassing amount of time to go ahead and defeat ol ' Margaret. I was drained, and that's not what you want when you pass through the foggy yellow gates of Elden Ring first Great Enemy.

Our group immediately became smaller after that first chaotic session – four of us, then three, and then finally, two remained. As a determined duo who wanted more of a challenge, we decided to randomize almost everything except for smoke gates. Sure enough, our first random run in Seamless Co-op was done in a few days, although we only had one obstacle left: Malenia.

Malenia was one of the first bosses we encountered, hanging out in the early game area of ​​Castle Morne, her health pool suitably depleted. This didn't make her any worse as we tried to take her down, and we both agreed to make Malenia the final boss in the race. That was a mistake, because after a rendezvous with Morgott – instead of the Elden Beast – and returning to Malenia with buildings and overpowered weapons, she was rather difficult to fight.

And so began another random run of Elden Ring, one that I've actually yet to finish, as the DLC caught up with me quickly.

Let's go back to the point. I'm excited for Nightreign. That's where this is all going. Of course I'm not alone in that. A cooperative experience of some of Souls' biggest and best bosses set in a world adjacent to the Elden Ring events? Not only is it cooperative, but you're telling me this new game is in roguelite form? Dreams really do come true, I guess. Sign me up and take my money, FromSoftware.

My experience playing Elden Ring in co-op, with random spawns and bosses, was the most fun I've had at Elden Ring outside of ' first time playing it (something I really wish I could do again). So, since the Elden Ring co-op game is actually coming to fruition – with each experience of Nightreign not being the same as the last – without the need for mods or any kind of hack not not only am I excited for the game itself, but just how many different friends I hope will experience it all.

It's hard not to assume that FromSoftware has, perhaps, looked at fan requests for co-op and seen how much fun players have had with this, randomly, and other modes. If that's true, that only makes me more hopeful for Nightreign and FromSoftwares future.
