There are three stories in China that you should know about today:
1) China saying will implement a 'moderately loose' monetary policy
As monetary policy indicators go, this is as good as it gets. It also came with promises for a 'more proactive' fiscal policy. All systems go as US-listed China ETFs up 6%. The Australian dollar is the leader in FX and commodities are offered.
2) China's central bank buying gold
China's central bank bought its first gold since May. That has helped lift gold above $30 and threaten the best levels since November 25th.
3) China opened an antitrust investigation into Nvidia
A report said the Chinese government believes Nvidia's purchase of Israeli networking company Mellanox could violate the country's anti-monopoly laws. Shares of NVDA are down 2% and chip makers will be expected to start the week but there is likely to be a new angle in the US trade war.
