Cricket South Africa has parted ways with the white-ball team's batting coach JP Duminy. This comes after the former team-mate resigned on Friday (December 6) following an agreement with the governing body.
Duminy was appointed as the head white-ball coach of the South African National Cricket Team in March 2023. He worked under head coach Rob Walter after the new era that came into Proteas cricket after the end of the era of Mark Boucher.

Under Duminy, South Africa did well in white-ball cricket. During his time at the helm, the Proteas reached the semi-finals of the 2023 ICC World Cup before losing to the side. Australia National Cricket Team in the knockout game.

Cricket South Africa released the official statement, confirming the development around Duminy. They highlighted the former player's contribution to the team and said:
“Cricket South Africa (CSA) announces that JP Duminy has resigned as white ball batting coach with immediate effect, following an agreement with CSA based on personal reasons.
“South African cricket legend JP Duminy has been a key member of the limited overs coaching staff since his appointment in March 2023. Valuable.”

Cricket South Africa revealed while thanking Duminy for his contribution that they have started the process of appointing a new white-ball coach. The statement from the governing body said:

Duminy has been an amazing servant to the South African National Cricket Team. He played for 11 long years and finished with 46 Tests, 199 ODIs and 81 T20Is. The southpaw scored 2103 runs in the longest format of the game, 5117 runs in ODIs and 1934 runs in the shortest format of the game.
