Many Japanese companies see the need to keep wages afloat, says BOJ


This is in addition to the regional economic assessment from earlier here. The BOJ says that although companies see the need to keep up with wage increases, they have not yet decided how much they would need to raise wages this year. On the flip side however, some smaller companies are holding back due to the impact of tighter profit margins.

But on balance, the BOJ notes that “there were many reports saying that a wide range of companies see the need to keep walking wages”.
