Marvel Rivals Season Bonus, Explained

Fans of the hero shooter genre are sure to notice some familiar ideas Marvel Rivalswhether it's game modes or special character abilities. That said, the new superhero title tries to spice things up with fun concepts like destructible environments and Team-up skills. One of the most unique original ideas that the game puts forward is the Bonus Season, although it has left most of us just confused if anything.

The biggest problem with Season Bonus is that there is no official explanation for it. Outside of some brief in-game mentions, the most information I could find about it was a handful of players in the official Discord asking questions and occasionally getting feedback on an answer. from a fellow player. But after some rigorous testing and cross-referencing with other products, I've put together a handy breakdown of everything you need to know about Seasonal Bonuses.

What is Bonus Season?

Season Bonuses are class-specific buffs given to a set of characters:

  • Vanguards get extra health
  • Duelists get increased damage
  • Strategists gain a healing bonus

Each of the characters receiving these bonuses is involved in a Skill Up Team. More specifically, each is an anchor or starter for them.

We assume that this is not just a big coincidence and the characters mentioned above were chosen for the role of Team-Ups. The yellow symbol for Season Bonus is also used to access Team-Up Anchors after all. Changing these bonuses could be a way to encourage players to use these characters, or perhaps a way to balance on the developer's side. Something connected to these two things is the assumption that Seasonal Bonuses only last for the season.

The next season could change the values of these bonuses or give them to completely different characters. If these are indeed meant to be linked to Team-Ups, we might as well start seeing new ones and maybe see other people's shelves. Again, we can only make guesses about Season Bonuses because we don't have a proper definition. Fingers crossed we have a detailed breakdown come Season One.

There's a good chance that the first time you saw a mention of Bonus Season was while choosing a hero to play. Maybe it was even after you remembered that My cityand Marvel Rivals intro tips we recommend that you read your hero profiles before entering a game. Since the season bonus is only for Anchor heroes and is listed under their Team-Up information, it looks like you assumed that this bonus only activates when the Team-Up ability is activated. Up to the point. However, these two things are not related in that way. A character's Season Bonus is active at all times, regardless of who is on their team.

I cross-referenced this with the official base stats for heroes provided on the game's website. For example, Groot's base health is listed as 700 on the website. His health during actual gameplay is 850. He remains at this value whether he has Rocket Raccoon and/or Jeff the Land Shark on his team. Naturally, checking his season bonus will show that he gets an extra 150 bonus health.

There are 14 characters with Season Bonuses in “Season 0: Doom's Rise.” As mentioned above, the buff they get depends on what class they are in. However, there is a slight difference in the values of these buffs. Here is the list of current season bonuses:
