MAKUENI COUNTY, KENYA – Investigations are ongoing as debris is falling from the sky in southern Kenya around 3pm on Monday.
Fragments of place debris fell in a village in Makueni County, Kenya. The object was thought to be a separation ring from a rocket, weighing more than 1,000 pounds and eight feet in diameter.
A separation ring is part of a spacecraft. according to Nose“Rockets usually come in stages, each one optimized for different parts of the launch. When each stage is complete, it falls away, allowing the smaller rest to continue. go on his journey.”
On Tuesday morning, Kenya Space Agency officials, along with a multi-agency team were able to secure the area and quickly recover the debris.

“We want to assure the public that the item is not an immediate threat safety,” the Kenya Space Agency he said in an official statement released on Wednesday. “Our experts will analyze the item, use existing frames to identify the owner, and keep the public informed of next steps and outcomes.”
According to the Kenya Space Agency, this is an isolated case and will be investigated in due course under international space law.
