Mourinho indicated that he considered his decision to leave the Royal Club in 2013, despite Perez's insistence that he would continue, as a mistake.
He explained, “In football, I regret many of the games I missed, but if I talk about career choices, my biggest regret is rejecting Florentino Perez's offer , and he said to me: 'Don't go now, you have passed the offer. sorry, and now the best is coming.'” He was supposed to do that, and staying was the best option, but after three challenging years in Spain, I decided to return to Chelsea .
Mourinho left Real Madrid after winning the 2012 League and the 2011 Copa del Rey, to be succeeded by Carlo Ancelotti the following summer.
