Asked about his feelings after being dropped from Australia's squad ahead of the Boxing Day Test match in Melbourne, the 25-year-old said Channel 7, “Damn, I get the dream come true and then it didn't work out the way I wanted.”

The disappointment of a missed opportunity was evident in his words, “If you don't take a chance and you don't perform, your position is never safe. I missed out a few times and unfortunately wasn't able to take my chance, but I'll work really hard to make it count next time.”
The young Australian opener, however, was optimistic about the future and revealed that he will work hard in the nets.

McSweeney's is a skipper Brisbane Heat In the' Big Bash League (BBL) and has led his domestic side to BBL title glory during the 2023-24 season. After his success with Brisbane, he was named its captain South Australia ahead of the first class season. His recent record in Australian first-class cricket speaks volumes about his potential as a future prospect for his national team.
McSweeney scored with an impressive average of 40.97 during the season and scored three hundreds for South Australia. Another youth Constance himself got an opportunity for a possible dream debut against India.
