Ubisoft has done it again. This is a strange new NFT game that was released with almost zero fanfare by the publisher. This one has Rayman in it, and is based on something inspired by it Far Cry 3 fun Blood Dragon expansionif you can believe that.
As you probably know, this isn't the first time Ubisoft has relatively stealthily dropped a weird NFT/Web3 game this year – it was Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles at the end of October. The name may not mean anything to you, but you probably remember it as the game that it is he suffered from a bug which led to a couple of players participating and winning every game that was posted, until it was banned, resolved, and then strangely unbanned.

Enter Captain Laserhawk: The GAME, which was released earlier this week with very little marketing, perhaps because, as Stephen Totilo of Game File reports, it features a bunch of cryptocurrency and blockchain s**t, and even requires NFT to play.
This is where things get weird, though. This game is based on the Netflix animated series called Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, which itself draws inspiration from Far Cry: Blood Dragon, the really good expansion for – or a standalone mini-game based on, depending on your opinion – for Far Cry 3.
You remember Blood Dragon, right? It was a cool '80s action movie style twist on your island adventure with Vaas, and let you play as a military cyborg voiced by Sergeant Rex “Power” Colt by Aliens and Terminator actor Michael Biehn.
Anyway, based on what Totilo says, this NFT thing isn't all that fun. Instead it's said to be an early access game that's “the most basic top-down shooter imaginable”, allowing PC folks to shoot some stuff while ' ran into characters from that Neflix show and Rayman, who guest stars on it for reasons.
“Rayman is the shining face of the entire Eden media system, from the Eden Report to the Eden Late Show, including any type of entertainment program,” reads Ubisoft's mascot character description of him. Captain Laserhawk: GAME Website.
“In his earlier life, Rayman was a resident of a universe known as Dimension X. As an immigrant to this reality, Rayman witnessed many of America's injustices and struggled to overcome rejected by everyone he met. He was happy to see America fall. – and even happier than Eden gave him reason. As Eden's chief propaganda officer, Rayman's friendly image can be seen everywhere.
Wait a minute, has Ubisoft turned Rayman into a Die Hard voice that you really want to be with before you're halfway through themovie? Maybe, but I'm not playing NFT bollocks to find out.
