Indian National Cricket Team shortstop Shubman Gill has been among the few players who have been talked about in the second consecutive Test against the Australian National Cricket Team. The second match of the 2024-25 Borders-Gavaskar Cup is taking place at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.
Shubman Gill returned to Team India in the second consecutive Test against the Australian National Cricket Team. The young batter missed the first game after the finger injury he suffered during the game simulation before the opening game.
Shubman Gill made a good comeback for the team as he played crucial innings for his team. The right-hander was batting at No. 3 and looked magnificent in his eyes as he played some amazing strokes but he couldn't keep up with the start he got.

India were bowled out for 180 runs in the first innings
Coming to Day 1 of the ongoing Test, Australia had a good day with the bat and the ball to start the second Test of the 2024-25 Frontier-Gavaskar Trophy. Opting to bat, India had a strange start to the Test match as the captain of the last match Yashasvi Jaiswal was caught lbw by Mitchell Starc on the first ball.
But, after that, KL Rahul (37) and Shubman Gill (31) steadied the ship and played some magnificent drives. They added 69 runs for the second wicket before Mitchell Starc brought Australia back into the game again with wickets from Rahul and Virat Kohli.
Wickets kept falling after that but Nitish Kumar Reddy (42) fought hard on his own and powered India to a total of 180. Starc was the pick of the bowlers as he picked six wickets.
Australia end Day 1 of the Adelaide Test on a high
Australia had a cautious start though they lost Usman Khawaja (13). But after that, Nathan McSweeney (38*) and Marnus Labuschagne (20*) dominated the game and made sure to put India under a lot of pressure. They added an unbeaten 62 runs for the second wicket as Australia finished the first day at 86 for one, trailing by 94 runs.
