Jim Carrey is fresh from reprising his role as the moustachioed and bald baddie Dr. Robotnik in Sonic 3and it has already been suggested that he would at least consider the idea of returning for future Sonic films – for example, Sonic 4, while he believes that the idea of anything “fun” sounds fun.
This comes after Carrey came out of retirement to make Sonic 3, says on the red carpet that he had returned – after previously joking that “if the angels bring in some kind of script written in gold ink that tells me it's going to be very important for people to see” that's what it would take to lure him in – because he had “bought a lot of stuff and I need the money, really”.

Talking to a Japanese YouTube channel Cinema todayCarrey said the following when asked about the possibility of him being in more Sonic movies in the future: “I'm definitely open. I'm open to the idea, and generally, they come to me with the next idea, and if so. I go, 'that's fun', then I do it I don't feel stuck to anything in my life, unless it's something that interests me.
“I really love this team, I love this team that makes these movies, and I love the fans. There's a lot of great energy around it, great responses, and the fans jump in and say, 'How about if you do this?' They have been extremely helpful.
Near the beginning of the video, Carrey also says he's “taking a break between projects” and proceeds to pull a good face. I'm not saying it's completely on the level of Grinch face in terms of my official good face ratings, but it's a solid effort, and it comes with a fun little noise too. 8/10.
