A new report claims that Paramount has locked down a sequel to the yet-to-be-released Sonic the hedgehog 3 film. Sonic the hedgehog 4 is already in development and is slated to hit theaters in 2027.

Sonic the hedgehog 3 land in theaters on December 25, a Christmas treat for all. The third entry in the live-action adaptation series based on the popular Sega games has been acquired many positive reviews from critics and currently has an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 87 percent. And Paramount seems sure of that Sonic 3– which includes the villainous shadow voiced by Keanu Reeves – has been as successful as the previous films, and is reportedly fast-forwarding to a fourth film.

On December 19, Different reported only that's the fourth Sonic movie, maybe with the title Sonic the hedgehog 4already in development at Paramount. The next entry in the hugely successful series is set to hit theaters in 2027.

Different there were no plot or character details to share about the next entry in the series, probably because there's nothing to share yet, but I bet my bottom dollar that Schwartz will return to voice Sonic. I'm not so sure Carrey will be back as Robotnik as the actor has saying it was semi-retired and, after three installments, they may be ready to move on. But drop enough money and you can get anyone to come back for a cameo.

The day before Sonic movies starring Ben Schwartz as Sonic and Jim Carrey as Dr. Ivo Robotnik have been huge box office hits. Together, the films have brought in over $750 million at the box office.

It is wild to think that, many years ago, the world was not scoffed at ugly Sonic as shown in the first trailer and many of us expected the film to be moved and forgotten. Instead, I'm writing about the fourth entry in a live action franchise that including TV switching. Never count Sonic out, I guess.
