South Korea's impeached Yoon is again ignoring a summons to appear

South Korea's suspended president Yoon Suk Yeol has failed for the third time in a row to heed a summons to appear before the country's law enforcement authorities, Yonhap news agency reported Sunday.

The Corruption Investigation Office said Yoon had not shown up at its offices south of Seoul when they were summoned, Yonhap reported. Yoon had previously ignored calls on December 18 and 25.

Yoon recently defended his controversial decision to impose martial law by saying he was acting to protect the country. The opposition accuses him of violating the constitution.
