Microsoft we promised to give us a deeper look at South of Midnight during the Xbox Developer Direct in January 2025and the publisher is delivered. The gorgeous action game segment was a highlight, and it even came with a release date on PC and Xbox.

Combat and travel seem to be the main parts of this one, but it's the South American setting, the unique flavor of the music, and the quirky characters that really tempt us to see where this story goes. go
We got a look at Hazel's weaver powers in this one, which is what allows her to see both real things, and the mythical visions we've seen in previous trailers. She will be guided in her adventure by catfish stories, which is cool.
A detailed look at how these spells and weave abilities, which you unlock more of and can create builds as the game progresses, work in combat. You will find Hazel's mother while crossing different regions ruled by different boss creatures, which you need to unlock and heal the memories as part of their fight.
South of Midnight is the new game from Compulsion Games, a studio whose previous games have varied in quality. Comparison was lovely, but We are a little happy it missed the mark – even though it did manage to have a few followers before it left early access.
If there's one thing you can count on from Compulsion, though, it's the studio's unmistakable style and confidence. Judged on that alone, South of Midnight already looks like a winner, but we'll have to see if it stacks up when we get our hands on it later this year.
