The European Union reached a free trade deal on Friday with Brazil, Argentina and the three other South American countries of the Mercosur trade bloc, ending a quarter of a century of stalled negotiations even as the France to cancel the controversial agreement. The agreement, proposed in 1999, aims to create one of the largest free trade zones in the world, covering more than 700 million people and nearly 25% of global GDP.
