Nintendo Switch 2 April Launch Claims Dummy Models Ces 01.jpg

The Nintendo Switch 2 circus just keeps getting weirder, as Genki says his mockups weren't based on seeing an actual Switch 2

Remember those Nintendo Turn 2 fake models from CES, which were analyzed a lot by everyone, and since then they have been part of encouraging Nintendo to finally say something about the whole situation regarding the unreleased console?

Well, accessory manufacturer Genki has now reportedly backtracked they said they were based on seeing a real Nintendo Switch 2 thanks to access from Nintendo.

This version of the script comes through an interview given to him by Genki's producer Spark Gameswhich has since been translated by Automaton. Instead of being based on an actual Switch 2 model that the company said they had seen, Genki is now saying that their Switch 2 mockup was based on leaks of the console that were circulating in the industry.

Genki said that the size of his product has not yet been decided, and even just admitted that he has not even seen Switch 2 himself. So, a pretty big flip of the script, and one that's very much in line with Nintendo simply saying that the hardware Genki showed off at CES was “unofficial and not brought to the company by us”.

“Only Nintendo can tell if accessories for the Switch will be compatible with the Switch 2,” Genki said. This Switch stuff isn't getting half weird at this point, eh? Even if what is we see a proliferation of leaks and a whole lot of hype when it comes to high-profile hardware like this. After all, people want to know stuff about it, a was part of the thing Genki's initial surprise that his CES mockups were attracting so much attention was a bit strange.

Are you practically begging Nintendo to release its Switch 2, just so you can see the thing and not have to sit through a rollercoaster of reports, leaks, and reports of leaks? It's okay, we'll get there run away from a huge shark on a jetski through something with the number 2 associated with it at some point.
