The nose of a Boeing Jet was caught on video suddenly falling to the ground

Nasal passage

In Belgium, a Boeing 737 jet literally fell on its nose – and the airline behind it is caught by what happened.

As Dutch-language Latest News pointing outThe nose gear of the operating TUI airline 737, which landed earlier this January morning in Brussels after a flight from Spain, appeared to have suddenly collapsed during the jet was parked.

Fortunately, there were no passengers on board the pier at the time, and the an all-Boeing airline confirmed that there were no injuries during the strange incident which quickly spread on social media after onlookers pictures posted and videos of the fall.

Until I fall

In an interview with HLNaviation journalist Luk de Wilde described the crash as “extraordinary” – but added that it may not be as big a safety risk as it first appears.

“When an airplane lands, the landing gear retracts,” he explained, “and because of gravity and the weight of an airplane, that always happens.”

De Wilde believed the cause was “human error possibly by maintenance staff or the crew” – an admission TUI itself doesn't seem prepared to make.

“We will thoroughly investigate the situation in consultation with the authorities,” TUI said in its report“but we can already confirm that there is no technical problem at the start of this event.”

Bad News Bears

The timing of this nasal failure could not be worse for TUI, which has taken the media heat in recent months after a series of incidents drew scrutiny after Boeing's own safety issues and internal crisis which follows a door blowing incident last January.

Just a few weeks ago, one of the airline's flight attendants was taken to hospital after he stepped out of the cabin not realizing that his stairs were already pulled back, falling hard to the ground.

Back in August, passengers on another TUI flight were forced to evacuate after a fire broke out in the cargo hold of another 737 after landing. Belgian actor Gunter Lamoot said HLN after that incident the scene was particularly strange because the approach had gone without stopping, and people had even applauded the pilots before the evacuation order was given.

Between these exciting events and the two separate reports about TUI safety failures issued in the latter half of 2024, things are not looking good for the destination airline, which mainly shepherds passengers from Belgium and the United Kingdom United to various vacation spots.

Then again, maybe things are worse for him than a manufacturer that supplies its planes.
