Options expire worthless at the strike price. Option sellers have an incentive to fix the price at the strike level to maximize returns. With 7.6 billion of EURUSD ending at 1.0500 and the current price at 1.0492, it would be better for option sellers to keep the price close to the 1.0500 level. If the price starts to move away, those sellers may have to hedge their positions which could also create volatility.
