'Time to move on': France faces gradual decline in African influence




Ivory Coast announced on Tuesday that French troops will begin withdrawing in January as part of a move to strengthen its own military forces. This move follows wider trends across West Africa, with countries such as Senegal and Chad also reassessing their defense partnerships and asserting more sovereignty.
