UAEV Announces Adoption of Recently Introduced EV Tariffs Effective January 2025 – Business – Energy

UAEV, the UAE's first state-owned electric vehicle (EV) charging network, announced the adoption of EV tariffs recently introduced by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, effective from January 2025.

While these tariffs mark an important step towards increasing the sustainability and scalability of the network, it is worth noting that EV charging services have been free since the charges were first announced last May. This milestone initiative reflects UAEV's commitment to ensuring quality of service, equal access to its network, and alignment with the UAE's vision for a sustainable future.

From January 2025, EV users will benefit from transparent and standardized charging charges. The tariff is set at 1.2 DHS/kWh + VAT for DC chargers and 0.70 DHS/kWh + VAT for AC chargers, ensuring a fair and consistent price while supporting the operational excellence of the network.

To enhance the EV driving experience, UAEV is introducing its user-friendly mobile application. The app will provide features like easily finding your next charging station, live status updates, and simple payments, empowering EV users with the tools they need to effectively navigate the charging network.

Complementing the app, UAEV is launching a dedicated 24/7 call center to provide immediate support and assistance, ensuring seamless user experiences at all times.

“This marks a transformative step in the UAE's journey towards sustainable transport,” said UAEV Chairman Sharif Al Olama. “The implementation of standardized charging tariffs and the launch of innovative solutions such as the UAEV app and 24/7 support reflect our continued commitment to enhancing the EV driver experience.
