Ukraine's goals to produce long-range missiles and drones are “today a reality” after being in the world of science fiction, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in Kiev on Tuesday while honoring Ukrainian scientists.
He pointed to the Palianytsia jet-powered drone, which was reportedly deployed for the first time in August. “The Palianytsia has entered mass production,” Zelensky said.
He said that the Peklo missile-drone hybrid had successfully completed its first combat mission. The Ukrainian army officially took delivery of the first delivery of these devices last week with a range of 700 kilometers.
Zelensky also mentioned the successful tests of the Ruta missile. Details are not yet available.
And he also referred to the Neptune long-range missile that was used in April 2022 to sink the Russian cruiser Moskva in the Black Sea in April 2022, saying it would soon become a “terrible reality for the residents of Russia.” The missile has undergone further development.
