India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was run out in unfortunate fashion on Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Jaiswal's wicket came against the match as Indian batsmen dominated the proceedings.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed in the dying stages of the day. Jaiswal hit a full ball off the off stump near mid on where Pat Cummins was stationed. He started immediately after hitting the ball but Kohli was ball watching and didn't even look at his partner.
Jaiswal moved towards the non-striker's end and there was no way back at the striker's end. Both Kohli and Jaiswal were standing at one end when Cummins picked up the ball quickly and threw it towards keeper Alex Carey, who rattled the stumps.

Both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli were shocked after the incident that rocked the Indian dressing room and the Indian crowd in attendance. While Jaiswal seemed to suggest that it was a call, Kohli defended himself by saying that the ball was too close to run.
It was a high risk single but Kohli made a fundamental mistake by not looking at his partner and instead looking at the ball. He almost let go of his reins and when he realized something, Jaiswal was already standing next to him at the head of the no hitter.
End of a great partnership
The terrific run broke a terrific 102-run partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli as they put India out of early trouble. Kohli joined Jaiswal when India had just lost KL Rahul and were 51-2.
Both the batsmen stepped up the pressure brilliantly and started rebuilding the innings. As both of them got their position, they started playing shots according to the merit of the ball.
While Jaiswal was smarter with his play, Kohli took his time but looked confident about the situation. The batsmen looked good to end the day on a high for India before Jaiswal's wicket started to fall from India.
Yashasvi Jaiswal breaks a brilliant half-century
Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for a brilliant 82 off 118 balls, which included 11 fours and 1 six. He looked devastated when he was dismissed while Virat Kohli also did not look happy.
Jaiswal's wicket also seemed to break Kohli's concentration. The 36-year-old, who had left the ball perfectly until then, chased a wide delivery from Scott Boland and was sent back to the pavilion.
Virat Kohli's wicket was huge given the context of the match as Australia felt there was an opportunity to run through India's batting order. Kohli was out for 36 off 86 balls in a knock where he looked very confident about the prospect. Nightwatchman Akash Deep was also dismissed later in the day for a duck.
