In one of the most electrifying moments of the series Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 Season, Melbourne Stars overall Glen Maxwell pulled off what could be the catch of the tournament, if not the century, in a match against the Brisbane Heat at The Gabba on 1 January 2025. With a brilliant effort, Maxwell showed not only athleticism but an amazing display of fielding prowess, making fans and critics alike wonder.

This incident appeared in the fifth of the Heat's innings when Maxwell showed his brilliance with a wonderful piece of field that turned six into a wicket. Prestwidge will he smashed a full delivery straight down the ground, and it looked like he was destined to sail over the border. However, Maxwell leaped to his right from long-on, over the rope and caught the ball with one hand.
Showing incredible awareness, he managed to push the ball back into mid-air play before landing out of bounds. He then quickly returned inside the field of play to complete the catch, leaving everyone in awe of his athleticism, presence of mind, and impeccable timing. The catch was reminiscent of the NBA legend LeBron James' famous one-handed dunks or his amazing blocks that run down, showing flexibility, timing and similar talent.
