Weekend winners: Tingle Creek the best bet ahead of Saturday's Sandown feature | Racing News

Jonbon has sent Tingle Creek into the history books as he bids to make it back-to-back wins in this race at Sandown – what the panel is up to ?

Host Kate Tracey is joined by Declan Rix from attheraces.com and Chris Poole from BetVictor to pick the best bets for the race.

Declan Rix…

“As the bet suggests, Jonbon is the most likely winner. It hasn't really captured people's imaginations but it's a winning machine, it's straight forward and it does a lot right.

“He's a proper horse and always seems to get the job done but I'm going to go ahead in the stakes without Jonbon with one of the old his enemies. Edward Stone. This is the track that brings out the best in him, he has run here four times – won twice and finished third and second so this is the track for him.

“I like that he is tactically versatile. Last time out at Cheltenham the fire is clearly still burning in him, he is a real horse who should be able this race suits him because there is a lot of distance for him to run.”

Kate Tracey…

“I take the same approach with Edward Stone in the market without. I think Jonbon is going to win this, but I think Jonbon is priced accordingly barring some weird event.

“I'd rather go into the market without the big old boy. It's just the obvious one. Like Dec said, he loves it here, he loves this ground, he loves this race but he's not good enough to maybe beat Jonbon. But he was second by less than three lengths last year.

“Edwardstone seems like the obvious choice for me.”

Chris Poole…

“I think Jonbon will win the race, but it will be very interesting how the market goes, if he moves out. I suspect so Master Chewy maybe run well here and I think the race should suit, he runs better to be held up and I think he gives a different form line to the race.

“Obviously Jonbon has beaten Edwardstone and the like and I think he'll do the job. Maybe he doesn't get the credit he deserves.”
